Wondering if anyone here has any experience with Windows Device Drivers ? I want to start integrating my hardware with a computer through various ports available. usb, firewire, pmcia, expresscard
I just purchased a microchip controller to handle usb ... it registers on the pc as a serial device. then i can use System.IO.Ports
However using labview signal express i can log the digital signal. Then design my circuit to generate the same sequence. (at least for registration) removing the pic. I would like to register my my own type of usb protocol.. instead of using serial ... just for the experience.
I'm programming a windows service the polls imap/pop using sslstream to connect to gmail, and my former university email. If new mail has been received data is sent out usb that triggers my bobble head.
Does anyone design drivers for a living?
I'm thinking about taking this class by hott http://www.traininghott.com/Courses/Writing-Windows-Device-Driver-Hands-On-Training-Course-Class-Seminar-Win32-SDK.htm would anyone else be interested... probably for may 2008. We can get a small discount for >=3 people.
