This thread probably won't get much response because 1) there aren't many people that chat here and 2) the type of information I'm requesting.

I'm looking to hire an entry level .NET guy.  What do .NET guys make?  I write in .NET but I do more than that for my company so I can't really use my salary as a guide.

This would be a great question to ask the reps from Robert Half Technology that sometime attend our meetings.  In the past, they did a presentation about the .NET job market and I believe they provided the "going" salary range, but it's been a year or two since that meeting.

I'm not suprised that (as you expected) people are pretty quiet on a topic like this.

Tim,

We have a salary guide that would be useful in this situation.  I can tell you from our experiences, though, that an "entry level" .NET programmer (someone who already has programming knowledge but is new to .NET) typically makes a salary of 50K, give or take 5K.

If you email me your address, I will get a copy of the salary guide in the mail.  Please let me know if there is anything additional I can help with!

Best regards,
Tina Kling

Wish I could help but I don't do .net ... yet

Not sure if it will be of any help but County and City info is public (as is state) while gov pay is a little on the low end it seems it might give you an idea if you can find .net in any of the job descriptions.

As followup from previous post 50k for an experienced programmer seems a little low even if they don't know .net but with 55k at the top end it sounds reasable.
